Keep writing George. My hubby and I love all your stuff. You could never be replaced by a robot!!

Thank you - that's a relief! Although a robot would be much better at sticking to deadlines and far less easily distrac...

Fear not, a robot would never be mad enough to try most of things you write about, George.😅

Ha, maybe not but it could pretend. And you might not know the difference.

So inspiring. Sales and positive reviews are not easy to come by so I will confidently say your writing deserves it.

Thank you. That means a lot. What would happen if I found out one day that all my reviews/sales were from robots and none of you are even real? 😱

George…An honest assessment on your writing career, and its difficulties- you are to be commended for keeping it going and doing so well. We all procrastinate - my motto has long been “Never do today

what you can put off till tomorrow.”.. maybe that way you reassure yourself there will always be a tomorrow!” Friends often tell me I should write a book, as I use a wheelchair, called “Wanda”, and she is always sending long emails to my family and friends telling them exaggerated tales of the trials of living with me, as well as her ( self-appointed) role in educating and entertaining other mobility devices she meets on her travels. She seems to get more emails from my friends than I do. I wouldn’t know where to start with writing a book, and admire your creativity and perseverance. Thanks for the entertainment.

Hi Kerry. You have to write a book. That sounds like such a great idea. And you wouldn't even have to do any of the writing. Just get Wanda to write it for you. 🤣

Seriously, I think that is an amazing idea for a book! You should definitely give it a go.

The secret is to just start writing. Don't worry at all about structure or grammar for your first draft. Don't even read what you've written! Just write. You don't even have to write it in order. Many of my books have started with writing some of the interesting bits first and then gradually filling in all the gaps between them.

I look forward to reading Wanda's book soon!

George, Congratulations! Only since 2014! Interesting, that is about the time I discovered your books. Having completed all the Tony Slater books on file, my algorithm feeds started feeding me your books as a suggestion. I was hooked from 1st chapter of Free Country. I noted (having read all of your books), enjoying them all immensely, you seem (to me anyway) have a common theme which is your amazing perseverance and resilience. It is tremendous and quite admirable. You never give up trying. Give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it. Your books buoyed my spirits during some difficult personal moments where I would sometimes think - well if George kept going while dealing with _____, I can too. As for the Self-Help Bible which was so good I wanted to get a copy for each of my four grandsons. Then I realized, any book I give them with any of these three words in the title, self, help or bible will be left unread. Maybe change the title? I have no suggestions, but maybe others might. I read all of your substacks, look forward to them all the time. I don't always comment or hit the like button, but I will try to do that more. Sometimes, I want to say something, and I run into how do I say this without sounding like a babbling idiot? Hence why I left social media. Ok, it was only one of three reasons I left, but it was the main one. Anyway, now that I have babbled on here for awhile... I will just end with keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day.

Keep babbling, Judy! The world needs more babblers x

Thanks for babbling Judy! Always lovely to hear from you.

Ha, I think my perseverance can be an asset sometimes, but stubbornness can also be a hindrance too. Which is why I need to admit that the Self-Help Bible is not a good title for my book after all. 🤣 I agree it is definitely in need of a new title and new cover. I'll keep thinking about a suitable alternative.

Thanks for being so supportive of my books over the years.

Hope you're all ok after Milton.

No AI & no fiction please! Love the real-life, humorously relatable stories, animal adventures: the cat next door, Ludo, (the kingfisher LOL!), and especially love "traveling" with you (& your family!) to new places! Keep writing & I'll keep reading 😀

Thanks Mina. I have toyed with the idea of trying fiction but thankfully I haven't had any ideas.

There will be plenty more travels and adventures to come.

Hi George, I love your writing sooooo much! Please go for more muddy runs along the South Devon coast, or more uncomfortable bike rides - reading about you and Rachel suffering while I'm cosy at home is SUCH. FUN! Xx

Please keep writing George! AI could never take over what you do. Always enjoy reading your books and anything you write. So important to love what you do rather than just doing something for the money, although the money is always handy! 😂 I love your honesty and down to earth nature that always comes though in your writing. ☺️

Feeling a bit old because I started reading your books in about 2016, when you were full-time writing! I always know I'll enjoy a new George Mahood book--I get very excited when a new one drops. And I did read The Self-Help Bible!

If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it.

You have kept me informed and entertained so many times. I like to be informed or entertained, and I like good grammar, and if I can't get into a book by page 50, I don't finish it.

I have reread your books many time, (and I have read all that you have published), and I rarely reread books. You have an amazing talent!!!

Thanks for sharing this! I really like when you write about the writing process/experience because being creative and putting yourself out there is lonely and hard and not everyone gets all the ups and downs that go with it. I also find it so hard to say the words "I'm a writer" or "I'm an artist" too 😬 Congratulations on 10 years!! 👏
